Camping with Camp Question Mark is more than showing up to the desert with a tent. It's joining a community that has been building something real at the Burn for over 20 years.
If you want to camp with us, this is what that looks like — and we wouldn't have it any other way.
There are two costs to camping with us. The camp fee covers your spot and everything we build together. The dinner option is exactly what it sounds like — and it's one of the things people keep coming back for.
Your spot in camp. Your place in the lineup. Covers the stage, the infrastructure, the art, and 20+ years of knowing how to do this right. Everyone camping with us pays the camp fee — no exceptions.
Breakdown incentive: Stay through the end of Monday and help us pack out completely — you get $200 cash on the spot. Effectively bringing your camp fee down to $220. Every year, no questions asked.
Each night we cook dinner together as a camp. A real meal, prepared for everyone who opted in. If you want to sit down at the end of the day on the playa and eat something made with care — add the dinner option. It's been part of Camp ? from the beginning.
More details on the menu and meal schedule will be posted here and sent in the camp newsletter as we get closer to the Burn.
We're not a camp you show up to. We're a camp you build. These are the things we ask of everyone who camps with us.
Every morning the camp meets at the stage for a line sweep across the dance area. We walk together, we pick up what shouldn't be there, and we protect our placement for next year. A good Moop score is what keeps us at the Esplanade.
We give out camp pendants to everyone who joins the sweep — two pendants per day. Show up, get yours.
Everyone in camp helps with breakdown before they leave — at least 4 hours. If you're leaving Sunday or early Monday, check the communication board in the kitchen for the organized projects you can contribute to before you head out.
Stay through end of day Monday: special camp T-shirt.
Stay through full pack-out: $200 cash on the spot.
Our kitchen is the nerve center of camp. Check the whiteboards every day for announcements, schedules, the camp photo time, and anything else we need to pass along. Leave messages, share news, coordinate. It's how we stay connected on the playa.
Both paths are fully part of camp at the Burn. The $60 is the same either way. The difference is whether you want to be part of the community year-round.
Your $60 is your yearly Camp ? Society membership. You're part of the community before, during, and after the Burn — with full access to the platform, events, and everything the Society offers year-round.
Your $60 is a deposit toward your camp fee. You're fully part of camp at the Burn — same spot, same moop sweeps, same breakdown commitment, same community on the playa. We manage your registration and keep you in the loop by email.
The camp experience on the playa is identical for both paths. · Questions? Contact us.
Fill out the camp application. We review every one personally and reach out to everyone we're able to bring into camp. Applications are open — don't wait.
